March Heat, Market Shifts & Your New Sacramento City Guide

Is it just me, or did March decide to turn into July? ☀️

This unusually hot Sacramento weather has coincided with a bit of a "re-heating" of inflation fears on the national stage. In turn, the Fed's 2026 projections for rate cuts have shifted, causing the 10-year yield to "flash its fangs" once again.

As my dedicated readers know, when that yield shoots up, mortgage rates typically follow suit. We’ve seen the national average move from 5.99% at the start of the month to roughly 6.55% as of this week. Yuck!

What does this mean for you?

  • For Buyers: That "sweet spot" of rates under 6% has dwindled for the moment. However, much of this is due to "macro volatility"—the outside noise we’re always monitoring.

  • The Silver Lining: A ceasefire agreement or a shift in the headlines could flip things back in our favor just as quickly as they changed.

  • The Strategy: It is more important than ever to stay prepared and vigilant. Don’t let the headlines freeze your plans; let’s keep your "what-if" math updated so you're ready to move when the windows open.

✨ NEW: The City/Neighborhood Guides

I’ve been hard at work creating some exciting new content for my website! To help you get to know the incredible neighborhoods and unique pockets that make the Sacramento area so special, I’m officially launching a series of "Living In" City Guides.

First up on the list: Elk Grove, CA. Consider the infographic below a little "teaser" of what’s to come. Over the next few months, I’ll be rolling out detailed—yet easy-to-digest—primers on our local communities to help you (or your friends!) find the perfect place to call home.

My most recent purchase is $TTMI.  TTMI supplies critical technology for AI servers and defense systems, two areas with strong demand.  Here's a summary from Seeking Alpha:

This is not investment advice, simply what I am personally looking at and have already bought or looking to buy in my Roth IRA.
