Happy Fourth of July Week!
My son, my dad, and I just got back from a fantastic trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. My son’s baseball team put up a massive fight and took home 2nd place after a hard-fought championship game that went into extra innings! It was a wonderful week of great baseball and quality family time.
The weather, on the other hand? That was a completely different story. I experienced a level of humidity I’ve never felt before! It gave me a whole new appreciation for California and our 2–3 months of 90+ degree, beautiful DRY heat. There really is no place like home.
🏡 Local Real Estate Update
Things are heating up locally in more ways than one! Here is what's happening on the ground:
- Lincoln Listing Buzz: We had 8 to 10 groups walk through my Lincoln listing this past Saturday alone. That is an incredibly welcome sight as we head into July!
- Rate Relief: My preferred lenders posted mortgage rates on Monday at 6.35%—another great sign for buyers.
Let’s see how these trends play out after the long holiday weekend!
🏛️ Big News: The 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act
In national news, Congress just passed a massive, bipartisan housing package called the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act. It’s being called one of the most significant pieces of housing legislation in decades, and it now awaits the President's final approval.
Once it is officially signed into law, I will break down exactly what it means for our local market. For now, here are the main goals of the bill:
- Building More Homes: Streamlining rules to speed up construction and increase the supply of available housing.
- Leveling the Playing Field: Putting new restrictions on giant corporate/institutional investors buying up single-family homes.
- Boosting Financing: Creating programs to make home construction, remodeling, and financing easier to access.
- Fixing Existing Programs: Updating and improving current housing and veteran support programs to make them more efficient.
Enjoy the holiday, stay cool, and have a safe and happy 4th of July!
