Welcome to April! Woohoo, my favorite time of year, Spring! Cool mornings and warmer days, but not too hot. Baseball is in full swing. March Madness Final Four is set. Basketball playoffs are quickly approaching, and hockey as well. And, of course, the real estate market is starting to spread her wings. I just love it.
We are starting to see a rise in new inventory, which is good, more options. We are also seeing demand keep up, which is to be expected. Here in Sacramento those things are both playing out to start April. As always, the tricky part will be what mortgage rates do. To start the week, the indicators we like to track are a bit ugly. However the 10yr treasury yield is hitting some ideal retracement levels as I type. Ideally, we get rejected at this 4.40% 10yr yield mark and make our descent lower. This would play nicely into Spring demand heating up over the next few weeks and provide a boost to some more palatable mortgage rates. Can I get a 6.5% and an Amen?
I hope everyone had a great Easter/Holiday weekend. My family and I certainly did. We love seeing family and watching the kids have fun with eggs and baskets.
