A huge THANK YOU to everyone that came out to Gunther's Ice Cream last Thursday.  I held last week's event and a similar one a few weeks ago specifically for my kids school, St. Charles.  Both events were my way to celebrate the Summer we all had and welcome kids back to school.  I spent almost $500 and I am so excited about it.  I plan to have just one Ice Cream social next year combining both events.  I want it to become an annual thing, so look out for your free scoops next year!

We had a productive round of economic data last week.  It's possible the Fed was high fiving themselves after multiple encouraging numbers were released showing a loosening of the labor market.  Wage growth is slowing down and job openings are being reduced.  These are all points we've been wanting to see come down.  The labor market being less tight allows the Fed to stay in a monitor mode instead of an aggressive interest rate increase mode.

I hope everyone had a wonderful and relaxing Labor Day weekend as well.  Mine was filled with fantasy football drafts, bday parties and an all star baseball swim party.  The holiday weekend was slow on the local market's transaction side, I expect that to change a bit as we head into the heart of September.  The Third Week market update comes out next week, so we'll be able to take a deeper look at that time.  With that said, activity was not slow for open houses.  My brother and I were able to hold one for our listing at 5220 Fitzwilliam Way (Listing Highlight).  Sunday was quite busy once 1pm hit.  I spoke with another agent in Elk Grove that had over 40 groups come through his open house on Sunday.  Buyers are quite literally ready to pounce.

What are you seeing or hearing? I'd love to know paul@guiderealestate.com
