I hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. More importantly, I hope we all took a moment to remember our fallen heroes and the true reason we celebrate this holiday. Everything we enjoy today is a direct result of the immense sacrifices made by the brave men and women who have served in our armed forces. Thank you to all who serve.

The Market Breakdown: What’s Moving Rates?

Over the holiday weekend, we saw a continuation of fast-moving global news. While there were initial talks of a potential peace deal and shipping lanes reopening, Monday brought reports of fresh tensions in the Middle East.

While this volatility typically keeps oil traders on edge and gas prices high, the bond market gave us a pleasant surprise:

  • A Welcome Reprieve: Despite the weekend news, the 10-year Treasury yield moved in our favor. By Tuesday morning, mortgage rates took a nice breather and ticked downward.

  • The Big Question: We are closely monitoring this shift to see if interest rates have officially peaked for the year, or if this is just a temporary pause before they climb again.

  • The Bigger Picture: There is a lot riding on this year politically. With important elections and major national milestones on the horizon, we can expect monetary and political leaders to use every tool available to try and bring prices and rates down.

The Takeaway for Buyers

No matter what the headlines say, homes are available, and preparation is paramount. Being ready to move quickly is your greatest asset in this market.

See you next week—unbelievably, it'll be June!
